I can see this being useful for organizations that would like to include images of office locations or real estate assets in their dashboards. That’s it! Test it out by clicking on the map circles and see the satellite image change accordingly. Copy and paste the generalized url above to the URL field of the dialog box, and replace and with the corresponding field names in your data source by clicking the small arrow to the right of the URL text entry field:ĥ. In this case, I’ve selected Map as my Source Sheet and Select as my trigger event, but you could trigger the action from a table or other type of sheet. In the Add URL Action dialog box, select whatever sheet you have created that includes the fields LAT and LON, and choose what event you’d like to trigger navigation to the new image (Hover, Select, or Menu). From the Dashboard file menu, click Actions and click the “Add Action >” button and choose “URL…”ģ. First, in the dashboard tab, drag a Web Page onto your dashboard from the left-center panel (just leave the “Edit URL” dialog box blank and click “OK” for now):Ģ. Add dynamic Satellite Images to your Dashboardġ. The next group of steps walks you through how to add a box to your dashboard that pulls up this embedded satellite image when a user clicks on a particular circle. You can see that the actual numbers for Latitude and Longitude have been replaced with field names and &output=svembed – this is a key parameter that makes sure the website you embed in your viz doesn’t include the entire site – just the map itself.&t=h – this specifies the type of map.Higher numbers zoom in, lower numbers zoom out &z=17 – this specifies the zoom level. Note that if you have an address field instead of Lat/Long, you can put an address after “q=” as well Breaking down the elements of the url, we can see that after the latitude & longitude, there are three parameters in the url: The url can be simplified a little bit as follows:Ĥ. A Google Maps search for a particular Latitude & Longitude (say, 48.445781 and -122.341108) yields a link url like this:ģ. First, notice that the data file contains Latitude ( “LAT”) & Longitude ( “LON”) for each bridge.Ģ. The first group of 5 steps shows you how to create a url for each bridge, and the second group of 5 steps shows you how to add a box to your dashboard to pull up the bridges.ġ. How to embed a Google satellite image in a Tableau Public visualization: Instead, I used a little-known feature in Tableau Public – embedded web pages (similar to the Embedding YouTube post from a few weeks ago). I didn’t have to take a screen shot of each satellite image – that would be way too much fun. What’s notable about this dashboard is that you can click on any of the 2,489 circles on the map and bring up an embedded Google satellite image of the bridge within the dashboard itself. (For this post, I owe a word of thanks to Andrew Beers – VP of Product Development at Tableau, for the raw data, and Mike Klaczynski – Data Analyst on the Tableau Public team, for showing me this method).Īt the Seattle Hacks/Hackers event last night, we built an interactive data dashboard that allows the reader to explore bridges in the state of Washington, where a bridge crossing the Skagit River recently collapsed into the water after being struck by a truck carrying an oversize load. Nelson Davis has a recent blog post that addresses issues with the method outlined here, which doesn’t work quite like it used to. Here’s our product table again, with center-aligned prices and right-aligned stock information.UPDATE, May 2015: Google is constantly changing their Maps service. And finally, for center alignment, add two colons, like: :-:.For right alignment, add a colon to the right, like: -:.To align left, add a colon to the left, like :- (this is the default).Alignment is specific around the dashes below the header cell: You can align columns to the left, center, or right. This will give the exact same result as the table above: Item | Price | # In stock You don’t need to make the table look pretty. See our Markdown cheat sheet for all the Markdown formatting you might need. Use at least 3 dashes to separate the header cells. You can make it look as pretty or as ugly as you want: | Item | Price | # In stock | A table is ‘drawn’ using something resembling ASCII art.

This tiny fellow is not at all afraid to wear a pink tie with his smoky grey suit. This little beauty is a real highlight of the dense forests and rainforests of Victoria’s wilderness corner. “I’m going to East Gippsland” is our interpretation of the song of the Rose Robin. His head and back are grey, not black, and he has a more upright posture and larger size than his red robin cousins. Not to be outdone, the male Flame Robin takes the red breast a step further – the brilliant vermillion stretches from his chin to his lower belly. Robins are not the only colourful birds we see on this part of the Maximum Wildlife tour – read about the colourful parrots of Mungo here. Red-capped Robins are the desert cousins of the Scarlet Robin – more at home in the dry Mallee and Mulga forests of Australia’s Mungo Outback. Red? You thought that Scarlet Robin was red? Well this little guy takes the whole red thing a step further. We love seeing another Scarlet in East Gippsland: the Scarlet Honeyeaters of Mallacoota. Regularly seen in the You Yangs and Great Ocean Road, occasionally seen in open forests and farmland in East Gippsland. His breast is a deep clear red, set off by his striking black and white back and head. The male Scarlet Robin is a little stunner. The name petroica is from greek petros = rock oica = home, originally given to the Norfolk Robin of Norfolk Island. We regularly see four on the Maximum Wildlife tour, and occasionally see a fifth: the Pink Robin. There are 11-13 species in this group, distributed in Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea. We see up to 9 species of Australian robin birds on our 21 day Maximum Wildlife tours.Ī flash of brilliant colour in the soft greys and greens of the southern forests: the pink, orange and red-breasted robins of the Petroica genus. Many have white outer tail feathers and a white band in their outstretched wings. However none of the group are closely related to the robins of Europe or North America.Īustralian Robins are handsome with breasts of lemon yellow, scarlet, pink or orange, with a grey, black or olive back. This group of birds were named ‘robin’ because some have red and pink breasts, superficially similar to the red-breasted European Robin. For wildlife photographers, they are a delight. They will use a favourite perch over and over – darting to the forest floor to snatch an insect, then flying back again. Some of the most charming little birds of Australia, Australian Robins are perch and pounce insect-eaters that are familiar to most backyard gardeners and farmers. Music also fills a need, but honestly I never really noticed when it was on or off. Despite his origins among the forest people of the Rain Mountains, Takate has little left in common. He was a former slave turned gladiator who accompanied The Cutthroat of Neetha and Cassia on their journeys and became a Vanquisher of the Nine Hordes. The audio work is also pretty great, each of the cast brings a great depth of character to their performance, ensuring that they are not just filling in archetypal roles. 'Love is not a gladiator's virtue' Tekate to The Cutthroat of Neetha Takate is a major character and companion in the Blackguard series. Each location has a unique look and feel that helps it stand out, making it really easy for you to determine where you are in the world. The opening environments are dank, dark and pretty gothic, once you get outside and start to experience the world as it stands, you can see some pretty amazing set pieces. It is a shame that combat has such a negative, because the actual movement and controls are really well executed, thankfully the presentation is also done with amazing detail and polish. The Best Wonder Woman Cosplays Youll Ever See DC comics’ Wonder Woman is one of the most. players take on the role of Cassia and have to build an indomitable army by recruiting mercenaries and finding the vanquishers of the Nine Hordes. Given you have to control each member of your team, you need to be able to keep track of where each person is, in relation to where their goal is and any enemies around them, given that the opposing sides turn can take quite a while to complete, this proved tricky at times. View Blackguards 2s rating and user reviews by other gamers. The problem with the combat, is that when it is just you against a handful of spiders, or other enemies the battles move at a decent pace, but when you have your full team against a full team of bad guys, we are look at around 20 characters, it takes forever for a single turn to complete. The actually combat in the game contains enough weight and reaction to make it feel like you are doing something, striking enemies with your weapon or casting a spell upon them has them reacting as you might expect, the same can be said for when you and your allies are attacked. So actually thinking about where you need to go is just as important as moving there. Each character has a set area that they can use to move around in, the first section is a darker colour than the rest, which defines the sections that you can move and attack or interact with things, once you move into the lighter coloured space, you are only allowed to move. 4 Cold Shock (spamming Cold Shock 4 with both mages wins you a lot of fights in 2-3 rounds) 4 Heal (super useful) 4 whatever spell (Fireball and Shadow Force are. The story starts off pretty predictable and tales of revenge are never all that exciting, but thankfully the cast of characters make it so, Cassia herself is not a helpless person, she is willing to get out and fight for what she wants.įighting here is where the game has its biggest struggle, it is a really smart system, with you being able to direct the character to do more than one thing per turn, if they don’t move to far. Identify which spells you like and split them among Z and Cassia, with essentials like Balm of Healing on both of them. After the tutorial, Cassia escapes and vows to seek revenge on the people who put her in there, but in order to do that, she needs to build a team around her she can trust, so she recruits the characters from the first game. I particularly like the use of PageWidth and PageHeight. I'm going to try some of those ideas in updating the macros I put together yesterday from bits I found on the Internet. Surely I can't have been the only person to run into this problem? It seems you cannot change the text wrapping property of an image while recording a macro (actually, it seems that just opening and then closing the Advanced Layout window will cause Word to crash). I tried a new document, different images, different PC. Word promptly crashes and asks me to send an error report (which I do - M$ might as well work for their money). Click the middle "Text Wrapping" tab, and select "Behind Text". So I click the Ribbon Picture tab, and then the "Advanced Layout" arrow at the bottom right of the Size section. No context menu appears at all (it seems I can't get a context menu anywhere - not just on the picture). I click the record macro button, name it and set a button. The best option, I decided, would be to record a macro that would allow me to pick a file, size it to fit the page and set it to go behind the text. I've got a decent part of the way through the first textbook, matching fonts and creating styles, but I had a bright idea - why don't I export the PDF files as TIFF images, and as I'm doing a page I'll set the TIFF file as the page background, which should make it easier to match the layout. So I OCR'd the files which is OK for the text blocks, but garbles the formulae and diagrams. A little back-story: I'm recreating some documents from PDFs (a bunch of Open University math textbooks that were supplied in printed format, and downloadable PDFs - except the PDFs are just images and as such are not searchable, highlight-able or able to be hyperlinked in any meaningful way). Aside from having lost some of its visual luster the real problem is even with the downgraded visuals the frame rate can still suffer and stutter at times. In the case of Art of Rally, without some serious patching and tuning it’s fair to say that things have been lost in the move that are unfortunate, making it a tough sell even if you’re a fan of challenging and more technical racing. Though the Switch has proven quite capable of bringing exciting experiences over from the other consoles or the PC space that doesn’t mean all Though the Switch has proven quite capable of bringing exciting experiences over from the other consoles or the PC space that doesn’t mean all conversions are a success. Nintendo got a tech demo of the idea, they then released the finished game elsewhere They've pretty much recreated tg rally 2 on the n64 for nintendo switch (tried my best not to write this comment but stripped back like it is, don't you agree) … Expand I am sure if it had more detail, then the immersion and feel of speed would add to what is already promising. Online mode currently unavailable! There are instances of fluctuating control responses, that cause the vehicle to behave like there is a tyre missing momentarily The switch can do better than this, I feel the art style is directly comparable to lonely mountains down hill in it's use of cell shading, so why is do poorly optimised. There is a real feeling, that the joy you have playing toy cars on a road carpet as a child has been captured, however the emptiness of the switch version and the pop up and the stuttering (especially in replay mode). There is a real feeling, that the joy you have playing toy cars on a road carpet as a child has been captured, however The game play is there. It’s probably a better and more precise experience on the other consoles for that reason. For the most part, it does not affect the game that bad, but it’s very noticeable in the wet environments because you have to tap the gas button to throttle, instead of half pull the trigger. In a sport where you’re going fast in conditions while barely hanging on to the grip you have on the terrain, you need fine tuned control over your throttle. Switch is not designed for racing games as it does not have actual triggers, only trigger buttons. The only major issue I had with the game was regarding the controls on Switch, which is not really a fault of the game itself. When you get the faster vehicles, it really turns up the excitement. It does have loading times that are on the longer side, it does have some very minor graphical issues that do not affect the gameplay, but overall it’s a solid title. However with that being said, the simplicity of the design is very attractive as well. The visuals are beautiful, but very mild at the same time, which really makes you focus on the gameplay. The graphics are very simple but they do the job very well. I also appreciate the subtle reflection on the history of rally racing. Lots of settings, lots of terrain, and lots of unlicensed cars which are very clear mirrors of very obvious real life counterparts. It’s fun playing with the different vehicles and seeing your ability improve with the more you play the game. Fans of Dirt games will catch on quickly. In terms of control, the game is in that middle ground between arcade racing with the car control of a simulation game. Any rally fans will love this game, but others may find it a bit frustrating.
